Monuments and Pylons

"Pylon" is sign shop lingo for large constructed signs that typically have multiple businesses listed on them. You will typically find these in shopping centers. "Monument" is lingo for a freestanding sign, typically between 4ft. and 6ft. tall, that might list multiple business, or a single enterprise. Look for these near apartment complexes and smaller businesses.

The Ridge

Near Smithridge Shopping Center - This installation includes several large monument signs, this one (pictured) the largest.

The Villas at Keystone Canyon

On McCarran Blvd North. Near the Keysone Canyon Trailhead, a simple but timeless monument. 

The Crossing

This is a very large pylon sign located in south reno. Each specific business sign is easily maintained and replaceable.

Silverado Apartments

This Monument features many construction techniques. Wood Beams hold a steel sign (finish) with aluminum letters, all mounted to stone base.
